Thursday, Sept 12, Branson, MO

We had plans to visit Craters of the Moon and Rocky Mountain National Park but it started to rain and was very foggy.  We checked the extended forecast and it was looking like another 3 days of the same so we decided to keep driving.  We are spending a few days in Branson, MO.  Last night we saw the show IT.  Wow was IT ever amazing.  We didn't want IT to end.  We are going to 2 other shows today and then will start the drive home tomorrow.  It was fun.  Hope you enjoyed the journey with us.  Richard and Ann

Monday, Sept 2

We started driving from Lake Louise Campground at 5 AM.  We drove on the Ice Fields parkway and watched the glacial mountains appear as the sun rose.  We were heading to Lake Maligne to do a cruise to Spirit Island.  This is a famous photo location that Richard painted a picture of years ago.  We just never knew where the picture was taken.  The only way to get to the spot is by boat.

Sunday, Sept 1

UH-OH,  Remind us never to schedule a trip to the National Parks on a holiday weekend.  The traffic was so bad we parked our car 3 miles away and hiked up to Lake Louise. This was as close as we could find a place to park the car.  We also hiked to the Tea House on Lake Agnus for a total of 14 miles. Not worth all the effort. Now my feet and ankles are aching.
Started the day by stopping by Vermillion Lake again to watch the sunrise

Johnston Canyon Gorge hike.  It took a lot of work to build this walkway.  Quite impressive.
Upper falls at the Johnston Canyon hike
 Lake Louise
Hiking up to the over rated Tea House.  Who wants to drink hot tea when you are  sweating like a pig, anyway.  Especially at $6 a pot.
